MailOnline has a number of key formats which can be used for display advertising. The standard ad formats are simple and dominant, ensuring the largest possible space for highly visible creative messaging.

Banners

Banner ad placement is at the top of the page, an effective format to help drive traffic to an advertiser’s own website. Leaderboard formats run in the same placement and are used to create standout.

Skyscrapers

Skyscrapers are placed at the far right of the page, and are one of the most popular formats online. Skyscrapers can be used creatively to increase brand standout with rich media, such as expandable formatting, initiated by the online user.

Expandable Skyscraper (120x600 to 160x600) Expand width 350 pixels.

Animation duration 20 seconds

Audio must be user initiated on mouse click and off as default. Banner must collapse on mouse off.  A back up gif must be provided for non-Flash users.

Message-Plus Units

MPUs are a prominent advertising method, increasingly used for rich media such as Flash and video streaming, offering page stand out and encouraging interaction with the user.
